removing tab directly after number

Hello,

When I select a list number from Word (Format/Bullets and
Numbering/Number tab) it automatically places a tab after
the number.

I need to right align the numbers, but the tab is
indenting the numbers from the right hand margin.

Does anyone know of a way in which, I can get the number
without the tab?

On the Bullets and Numbering dialog, select Customize, then select Right
(instead of Left) in the Number alignment drop down.
