Removing Unused Fonts from SlideShow

Like so many others, I have a font substitution warning in PPT 2004.
The file Properties show that I'm using ten fonts in this one show, and
lists them, several of which I've never heard of. I want to use only
two fonts. Is there some way to search for and remove fonts from a PPT
slideshow. I'm thinking of the FIND command in WORD, for instance.

Hi,

When I open a new, blank presentation there are only two fonts in use:
Arial and a Microsoft (MS) font. Arial is a good choice becuase almost
everyone has it already. Microsoft uses a font to display menus,
toolbars, dialog boxes, etc within PowerPoint so having one custom font
for that purpose seems reasonable to me.

You can make a macro that would look for any text containing objects and
substitute any particular font that you want to use. If you do a good
job at this macro you might consider giving it away or even turn it into
and add-in and sell it.

By default, if your computer doesn't have a font installed that the
creator of the presentation has, MacOS will substitute with something it
thinks may be a close resemblence.

Is the problem with a presentation that you made on your own computer or
with one someone gave to you?

It'd have to work better than just choosing Format, Replace Fonts and letting
it do its thing. ;-)
