Removing WSS Sites after deleting Projects

Hi;
How can we delete Project Workspace Sites after deleting just the projects?
i.e. if the user forgets to tick the box to Delete the Sharepoint site
within Clean-up screen. Is there front end way of doing this?

If you remember Project_IDs of your deleted projects, then you can go to the
deleted sites following this:

- Go to Admin > Manage Windows Sharepoint Services > Manage Sharepoint Sites
- Click any existing project site on the list
- Replace the projectID in the URL with your deleted projectID. IT will
bring up your project site for deleted project.
- On the home page of that project site, click 'Site Settings' on top. Then
click 'Go to Site Administration' under ADMINISTRATION.
- Under 'Management and Statistics' section click 'Delete this site'
- Hit Delete button

Do this for all deleted project sites.

Its not efficient way as you might have so many projects sites.

Alternately you can configure automatic deletion of unusd sites. Read this

Kiran -

With Admin permissions in PWA, navigate to Admin, Manage Windows
SharePoint Services. On the Action Pane on the left, select Manage
SharePoint sites.

The grid will list all the active sites by project name and site
number. You can use controls in the toolbar to edit sites, add a new
one or delete a site.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mark;
if a project is deleted without the site then the project ID will not appear
in the list.
It looks like the only option is look in the WSS database to identify the
site ID then go the site administration to delete the individual sites.

Thanks
PJ
