Rename an enterprise resource

J

Joe

I want to create some consistency in my list of enterprise resources. All of
my resources are listed as first initials and last name, for example, Mary
Smith is “msmithâ€. Some are all lower case (msmith), and some are capital
first initial and capital first letter of the last name (MSmith).

Would there be any harm done if I opened up the Enterprise Resource Pool and
renamed all of the lower case accounts to the upper case format?

Joe,

I made a small test on my server : no problem at all,

Joe:

You may end up with less consistency because this change will not fully
populate through your existing SharePoint sites, and I'm afraid that there's
no out-of-box way to correct this. This will tend to fade away over time,
but I thought you should know.

Hi Gerard,

Did it also change the names of resources on old, existing projects or
is the name modified only for new projects? I have a resource who got
married and wants to change her last name. but I am not sure of any
adverse consequences of doing this.

Thanks,
Dee

Dee,

On my test, it changed the resource name on old assignments. In fact that
was my first test.
