Rename an Existing web

H

Trying to get started in FP 2003.

Frankly I find the file/web functions very confusing.

If I have an existing web "WEB1". How can I save it as "Web2" so I can do
some expermenting and still have Web1 undisturbed?

Somewhat related. If there are pages/files in Web2 that I do not want
included, it seems to me that when I deleted from the folder pane that they
were deleted from the Hard Drive not just removed from that web. Did I do
something wrong?

Thanks

You use File Menu | Publish Web / Site to another location (folder name)

Hi
Or you can just copy the web to another location using windows as you would
any other file or folder

When you delete a file from a web using FrontPage, it is gone forever.
FrontPage does not recycle files. This is by design.

copy the folder....paste (you'll get a folder called "copy of web1") then
rename "Copy of Web1" to "Web2". OR Publish the live site back to a new
folder.

Thanks to all for responding.

What I thought was the proper way was the publish to a new site, and
expected to be requested to name the loction. This will apparently work only
if I generate the new folder before starting the publish.

When you select to publish, you can enter any location name (folder) that you want.
