Rename macro

When I access my list of macros (Alt + F8) in Word 2002, I see macros with
names such as macro1, macro2, etc. These are macros that I have created. Is
there a way to rename these to something more meaningful? TIA

You are right; sometimes it works. This time is doesn't. Sorry I should have
said that I did go to help before I posted to the newsgroup. I did this:

1.. On the Tools menu, click Templates and Add-Ins.
2.. Click Organizer.
3.. Click the Macro Project Items tab.
4.. In the In box on the left, click the entry you want to rename, and
then click Rename.
BUT; there are no macros listed in the "In" box on the left. Any other
suggestions?

I'm sorry for sounding so overconfident; I was (g)! It seemed so
obvious that I did not try it.

It appears that this is one of the occasions where the many complaints
about the ineptitude of Help are correct. I did find that renaming of
a macro can be done by Tools...Macro...Macros...click the needed
macro....Edit

The macro name is given on the line:

Sub whatevername().

Just change the name to what you want and exit.

Somewhat humbled; I hope it works for you!

Jim.
