rename

is there a way to rename a field in a table using a
macro? i would like to run a macro and change the name of
one of the fields in the table is this possible

Look at the Alter Table command in help

What on earth for?! AFAIK you can't do this with a macro... you could by
using VBA, but you'd probably lose all your data!
