Renaming a subpage

Hi all

I am using OneNote with SP1 pre-installed and I'm wondering how to rename a
subpage.

The title on each subpage is the same for all pages in the group, and
changing the title on any page changes the title for all pages in the group.

The page tab on the right hand side takes whatever text is entered on the
first line of the subpage.

However, the release notes for SP1 suggest that it should be possible to
rename a subpage:
----------------------------------------------------------------
Assign names to subpages. Specify a title for subpages that are part of a
group.
Pasted from

----------------------------------------------------------------
Can anyone shed any light on what the release notes actually mean, am I
missing the point somewhere?

Thanks
Tim

Tim, it's working as designed. In the SP, we tried to repsond to people's
desire to have different names for subpages appear in the page list by doing
a cheap trick to use the first text on the page, and that's what you're
seeing. Doing the complete fix was beyond the scope of the SP.

We originally intended subpages to be "continuation pages" for tablet users
who filled the main page with ink and wanted a blank sheet with the same
title as the first sheet. Having the same title meant you could even write
follow-up questions in the title area and have them ready when you needed to
ask them. We assumed they didn't want to scroll to add more space. We
assumed wrong. Now people use subpages as part of their hierarchy, and that
means they want different titles for each subpage. We'll get this one right
next rel.

Thank you Chris for such a speedy reply.

That clears that one up then. To be honest it's no major issue for me, I
just thought that if the functionality was there I would use it.

Thanks again.
