Renaming an administrative project

I used the renaming tool to rename an administrative project. The new name
appears on timesheets and on my Updates page when I accept them. When I hit
the Update button, I get an error stating that the project has been renamed
or deleted and MS Project closes. If I rename the project back to what it
was then everything works fine. Any ideas? Before renaming the project I
made sure there weren't any pending Updates for me to accept.
Thanks!

Why don't you save the admin project as an .mpp file, delete the old one
from the Project Server database, and then import the admin project using
the new name? You would need to republish the assignments using
Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments with the "Overwrite actual
work entered by resources" option selected. Just a thought.

I did that once but afterwards the project lost the administrative attribute
and appeared on timesheets as a regular project. I thought that maybe the
republish
assignments w/overwrite was the cause and assumed that I can't do that with
admin type projects. Is that assumption wrong?

Thanks,
