renaming gifs and jpgs

I often rename graphics from my site when some idiot links directly to them.
I go into my images folder in FP and rename, for example, graphic2.jpg to
graphic2a.jpg.

When I was using FP2000, it would ask if I wanted to update the page(s) to
which the graphic was linked. I answered Yes and when I published next, the
graphic and the page would be uploaded to the site.

Now, I am using FP2002 and I do the same thing and the program asks if I
want to update the page. Again, I say yes and the page is updated but it is
not published at all. IOW, the original page is left on the site but the
graphics are uploaded. To make it work I have to physically go to the page,
make a small change and save it. Then, of course it will publish.

Any ideas??

Make sure your page are not in Html view and are closed when you rename files in FP, then run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks before
you Publish
