Renaming image file folder problem

S

FP2003. I have several sub folders in the image file folder in order to keep
ny images organized. When I renamed one then published to the website, it had
to upload all of the photos again because it could not find that folder. Then
I tried opening the remote web in FP to rename the folder there first. Same
problem. How do I rename file folders on my computer and the web without
having to upload all of the photos a second time. Do I use synchronise?

Thank you...

You do it in FrontPage, after opening the web, so that FrontPage server
extensions will be updated properly. *Never* work on your local web copy via
the OS file system. And never modify anything in your web without opening
the web first.

I just tried it again from within FP2003 and signed into the website. It
created a second file with the new name and published it to the site. There
is now two files there. One with no purpose and one with the photos in the
new file name.

Are all your files & foldernames lowercase (and no spaces) or are you mixing
caSes?

Post the URL to the site so everyone can take a look at what's goin' on.

You folder names and file names are full of spaces.
http://www.bougainvilleahouse.com/images/the island/200x150/41 anglican church%
which are what create the %20 you see.
Unfortunately this will cause broken links in some browsers.

Go to www.jimcosoftware.com and download, install a copy of the free Space Replacer.
and run it on your web.
Then republish.
