Rendering MS Publisher site in IE 8

I have a site that was created using MS Publisher 2003. In IE7 it renders and
view as expected. However, IE8 renders everything except the navigation menu
bars. Anyone know if there is a Publisher update that allows us to make our
site IE8 Compatable or some other way to address this problem?

There in no update for 2003

Create a web site with nav bars etc.
Saved web site as "My web site.pub"
With the pub page open
Ctrl a (selects all)
Arrange > Ungroup
This insures that all groups are ungrouped
This must be done on ALL pages individually
Re-Saved using Save As "My web site NBUG.pub"
I take the step to "Save As" so that when I shut down publisher and I get a
prompt to save my changes I do NOT overwrite the master file "My web
site.pub" accidentally.
Publish to the web
FTP to the server
Web site works using IE 8

If a change, update is required or a page is added
Open with "My web site.pub"
Make changes
Follow the above suggestions
BTW NBUG = "Nav Bars Un Grouped"

Spike,

My file is named default.htm If I want to try what you suggest, do I need
to save it under default.pub INSTEAD of htm? and do I need to change the
file name from default to My Web Site as you suggested? That won't work,
will it because officelive looks for default as the main folder. Please
help...I'm having the same problem with the nav bars!!!

Thanks!

You may name the pub file any way you wish. My suggestions were just one
method of doing it. Make it easy for yourself. The only thing I strongly
recommend is that you save a copy of the pub file that is NOT ungrouped so
in the future if you make changes the wizards will still be active in that
copy, then you can ungroup them and republish the HTM files. You may name
the HTM files anyway you wish. There is no connection to the publisher
files and the HTM files.

Thank you so much! It worked!!!! Couldn't have done it w/o your help. I
hope you don't mind, but I have another question. Since I'm using Publisher,
I have to add my files to my Web Folder in my Network Places. For some
reason, when I go to my Web Folder, the computer looks for it and finally
says that it could not be found do to the fact that it was deleted or there
is a network connection. I have tried to add it manually with no luck. I
tried it on my home computer and it worked. Do you think it has something to
do with the service packs?

Thanks again!
