Reorganizing Table Axes

B

Brandon

If you consider the header row of a table its X axis, and
the left column the Y axis, is there any way to invert
the contents of the table so that the X-axis contents
become the Y, and the Y beocmes the X?

I realize I can manually move the contents of each cell.
Other ideas?

Hi, Brandon,

If you have Excel, it's very easy:

- Copy the table to the clipboard.
- In an empty Excel worksheet, paste from the clipboard. Each cell of the
table automatically goes to a separate cell of the worksheet.
- In the worksheet, select everything you pasted, and copy it again.
- Move the cursor to a cell in an empty area of the worksheet.
- Go to Edit > Paste Special. Check the box marked "Transpose". Click OK.
The pasted copy will be rearranged the way you want.
- Select this new table and copy it to the clipboard.
- Back in Word, paste from the clipboard and delete the original table.
