Hi,
A series of applications developed in MS Access 97 have been migrated from a
Windows 2000 Advanced Server to a new machine with Windows 2003 Advanced
Server. All applications seem to function normally and faster except for
the Repair and Compact utilities. The Compact Utility takes longer to
execute but not significantly longer but the Repair Utility's execution time
is 40 times greater on the new box. Since the new box has a dual processor,
more memory and more disk space than the old box processing power is not the
issue.
Since documentation of these utilities is virtually non-existent, I do not
know what buffers or internal areas are utilized to perform their jobs.
Any suggestions or solutions?
Thank you,
Nick
