Repair default Calendar

Syncing my iPhone to Outlook 2007 failed recently after three months
of correct operation. Outlook's Calendar somehow lost most, maybe
all, non-recurring entries. Correct entries were saved on the
iPhone. Getting sync working again has resulted in two calendars on
both sides, one good and one bad. Advice on an iPhone forum (http://
getsatisfaction.com/apple/topics/how_can_i_delete_an_iphone_calendar)
says that one should delete first delete the unwanted calendar from
Outlook.

Unfortunately,in my case the faulty calendar is Outlook's default one,
which can't be deleted. I therefore need to copy all the info in
Calendar_2 to the default calendar after first deleting all contents
from the latter. Is this possible?

Any suggestions on how to get round this puzzle would be greatly
appreciated.
