repeated attempted downloads of Office 2003 fail to complete

I have been unable for the past 3 days to download SP2 for Office 2003. The
info gathering step goes (slowly) to completion, but the following step
(download about 90+ MB file) never gets past 10-15% of the process. My
system has 20GB of open disk space available. Other large file downloads
work OK.
