Repeated commands

Sally Sue

When I make a command in Word, it applies the command to ALL previous input.
For example, if I have a line centered and I want to make it flush left, it
will flush-left everything from that point back to the beginning. Or vice
versa, if I have a paragraph that is flush left, bold, unbold, underlined,
etc., whatever the change I make to the present input, it makes the same
change ALL THE WAY back to the beginning, which could be two-three pages. To
cope, I have to immediately tap "Ctrl-Z" after each command, but what happens
sometimes is that the software gets so bogged down that it simply does not
respond and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get out of it and try again. It
especially gets bogged down if I have a picture inserted into a paragraph.
What to do?
