Repeated instance of Windows Installer in Office 2000 Professional

I had to do a complete reinstall of the operating system and WinXP is now on
Disk D whereas WinMe was on Disk C. After the OS reinstall, I had to
reinstall Office 2000 Professional. Now, each time I start Word, Excel,
etc., I get a screen that Windows installer will install the application and
then that Windows Office 2000 Professional is configuring the system. It
doesn't matter if I let the configuration go to completion or if I cancel,
it still happens each time I start the applicaions. The applications work
just fine either way, but having to sit through/interrupt the config. is an
aggrevation.

Any suggestions for how to stop the repeated configuration?
