In Outlook 2007 we receive repeated requests (connection dialog) to supply
our user name and password in order to access certain mail accounts. Here
are some of our observations:
FIRST, our MSN and Hotmail mail accounts are affected by this problem
randomly. It seems to affect our most active accounts more often, but all
accounts are randomly affected at one time or another. Without any changes
to the User Name or password (both saved by Windows), these accounts will
properly access the mail server one time, but not the next.
SECOND, when the request is successfully made, we must accept the dialog
twice in order to access the account. In other words, the same dialog
reappears immediately again after we choose OKAY to confirm our name and
password the first time.
SECOND, when the request is NOT successfully made, the account cannot be
accessed and the dialog simply keeps appearing until it is canceled. Yet
awhile later it will work just fine.
THIRD, sometimes we can go to the FILE menu and reconnect to the mail
server, and other times not. We have turned off our anti-spyware and that
does not seem to alleviate the problem.
Is this a known issue with Outlook 2007? Is anyone else having this
problem? What would randomly block a connection to a mail server account?
