Repeating header row in 2007 Word Table

I followed instructions (as far as I can tell) from previous posts. My Word
table still does not show the header on the second page.

Yes, the table does go to the second page.
Yes, I clicked on the first line of the table, and went to the Table Tools
portion, clicked on the Layout tab, and selected "Repeat Header Rows".
Yes, all other rows do NOT have "Repeat Header Rows" selected.

Please help.

Make sure that text wrapping on the table is set to "None."

Hi Catherine,

Let try:
- Right click to first row
- Click Tab Table Properties ...
- Choose tab Row
- Check Options: Repeat header row at the top of each page.

Make sure there is no manual page break in the table. If there is, the break has split the table (so there is actually two tables although it may look like one) which would explain why "Repeat header rows" doesn't work.

I followed the steps that you suggested for this topic with the last person.

The "Repeat as header row at the top of each page" is in grey, so the software won't let me select this option.

Could the problem be that my table is made up of two parts that are separated by 2 blank lines.

The first, is a table with 7 cells.

The 2nd, a normal table 6 (columns) x 42 (rows).

There is a little box in the top left hand corner. When I selected the box, both of these two parts illuminate in blue, and those two blank lines do to. So it appears the software is interpreting there is one table composed of my two parts and the two blank lines.


I need to repeat the first header row of my 6 x 42.
Please help. I need to get this document to my boss ASAP.

Further explanation-The first, is a table with 7 cells is the offices fax page with the usual fax cover page information.

The 2nd, a normal table 6 (columns) x 42 (rows) is the work content of the document.

You need to display table gridlines to see what you're dealing with. It
sounds to me as if the entire document is a single table and the two "blank
lines" are just empty rows. In order to have the heading row of the 6 x 42
table repeat, you will need to split this table. It's also possible
(depending on Word version) that you might have nested tables.
