Replace default enterprise template for project site

Is there any easy way to replace enterprise template for
project site that is used for all published to the server
projects to my template. My template was actually
created from the site initially built from enterprise
template. So they should be compatible for sure. I found
in documentation how to do that Writing a PDS Extender
but I guess there should be some very easy way to do that
if my template differs from default only by lists fileds
structure.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
