Replace Image based on current page

I have a navigation bar as its own page. The nav bar page is scripted
for rollover images. I then have several pages that is tabled so that
I just use the included-page component so I can include the nav-bar
page.

How can I either script or use css so that the nav-bar page can
determine which page it's currently on and change the image for the
buttons to show that it's on that page?

For example, you are on a page of the site other than the Homepage.
The button for homepage is blue. When you hover over the Homepage
button, it turns yellow. Then you click on the homepage button. How
can I script it so that the nav-bar page knows it's now in the homepage
and turn the Homepage button from blue to red?

The site isn't very deep. There are probably only 14 main pages total.
Unfortunately, the site is a mess and is taking some time to clean up
from the previous coder. The owner of the site wants to start adding
more "stuff" to it, so I would rather work on a single nav-bar rather
than edit page after page of navigation buttons.

I can elaborate more...this is turning into a short novel.

Thanks in advance for your help.....ps>>how can I change my stupid
profile so that my email address isn't displayed in Google Groups? I
hate it when my address gets harvested by those pesky bots.
