Hi-
I would like to implement outline numbering in MS Word using words to index
sections instead of numbers. For example, the following outline is easy to
do in MS Word:
1. Item 1 heading
1.1. Item 1.1 heading
1.2. Item 1.2 heading
2. Item 2 heading
I would like the following outline instead:
Item1. Item 1 heading
Item1.Subitem1. Item 1, subitem 1 heading
Item1.Subitem2. Item 1, subitem 2 heading
Item2. Item 2 heading
(No connection between heading tags line "Item1" and the heading text that
follows it)
I would pick the words that substitute for the numbers when a new level is
created. The index words would persist at that level and heading scope.
My goal is to make a more meaningful connection between the heading ID and
the text contained within the heading. It's a simple concept. I wonder how
easy it would be to implement. Does anyone know how to do that in MS Word?
Otherwise, does anyone know of any add-in utility that will do it?
Thanks, John
