replace one space after period with two

Nelson

I've been using the replace function for years to tidy up documents with too
many spaces and tabs. I prefer to use two spaces after a sentence. Might
someone know of a way to use the replace function for sentences that have
only one space after the period before the next sentence starts? I'd like
to find period|space|* and replace it with period|space|space|* where *
could be any letter in the alphabet. Does Word have some sort of wildcard
symbold for any letter in the alphabet?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Use the range feature. [a-zA-Z] will find a letter

Click on Tools / Options / Spelling & Grammar / Settings.

In the Grammar and style options box, do one or both of the following:

Under Require, select the options that you want for number of spaces between
sentences.

Under Grammar and Style, select or clear the check boxes next to the rules
that you want the grammar checker to check or ignore.

If you specify two spaces between sentences, you can use the spell /grammar
checker to tidy up the document and correct single spacing between
sentences.
