Replace uses all caps

I am having an issue when I am editing a document, and I want to find and
replace words.

The feature finds and replaces all the text but the text is all caps. I
have not been able to find a setting to correct this. It not a document
problem as this happens in multiple documents.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have "Match Case" checked?

no I checked that, and I believe that is a function for the find not
replace. Replace should only replace the text exactly as entered and not
affect capitalization.
