Replacement for Auto Discovery?

I just purchased the Visio 2003 Resource Kit to try and get back the
functionality Auto Discovery used to provide. Let's just sum it up and say
that the LANsurveyor software that comes with the resource kit is nearly
useless.

Is there any third-party product that gives Visio 2003 all the features that
Auto Discovery and Layout used to provide? Not just crude maps, but letting
the user choose which stencils to use for specific equipment, mapping
connectivity, keeping everything in a database (instead of LANsurveyor's
one-shot discovery method).
