replacement for office 2000

Microsoft no longer has replacement CDs for Office 2000. You will need to
search online resellers, your local computer stores, auction sites (be wary
of counterfeits) or bite the bullet and upgrade to a version less than 5
years old.

Let's face it, it's only reasonable to expect folk to be prepared to stump
up for new WP software more often than every five years... And hardly anyone
uses Windows 98 these days, do they?

When I first looked into buying a PC, did all the research on components
etc, there was a very sensible piece of advice I came across: "If it does
what you initially bought it to do, why bother upgrading?" This could be
amended to "...why should we be forced to upgrade?" Plus, upgrading to
Office 2003 could well necessitate a hardware upgrade too. OK, it's always a
good idea to back up important stuff like your Office CDs (altough not sure
if it's legal...), but - sheesh! It wouldn't hurt MS to issue replacements
this "late" on, surely!?

Best to ask this direct to Microsoft. (e-mail address removed)
