replacement hard drive, will I use up a license re-installing offi

I have searched the forum for an answer, but couldn't find one, so my
apologies if this is a repeat question.
My laptop crashed and I've had to have a replacement hard drive fitted. I
used my sister's office home and student previously and she has only the one
license left now. If I re-install will I use up that license as my hardware
has changed? Or when I go to register it will they note I already have an
account for that code/license?
Thanks in advance for any help!

No, a reinstall is simply a reinstall, NOT a NEW installation. Home and
Student may be installed on 3 PC's in the same household concurrently.

Its the number of working installations, not the number of times its
reinstalled.
If the License allows for three PC's you can install as often as you like so
long as its not on more than three PC's
Worst way you have to use phone activation
