While Bill's suggestion will work, the problem with that
solution is that it takes away the "good" paragraph marks
along with the bad. Most text messages with extra
paragraph marks (I'll use "p-mrk" from now on) look
something like this (assuming you've turned on the
feature to see pargraph marks on your screen):
(NOTE: I inserted a space before each p-mrk so as not to
confuse anyone. Normally the p-mrk would be next to the
last word on a line, like this: timep-mrk)
We had a great time p-mrk
on our trip to the beach p-mrk
p-mrk
We will definitely recommend p-mrk
your hotel. p-mrk
p-mrk
Thanks.
The challenge is to remove the extra p-mrks but not make
this one long pargraph. The answer is to find the "good"
p-mrks first and somehow mark them for future replacement.
Here's my suggestion:
1) Use find and replace to find two pargraph marks (as
Bill said "Click on the "Special" button and select
"Paragraph Mark" at the top" but do that twice). Replace
with some character that you know is not in the text (I
normally use a tilda (~). Then click replace all.
2) Next find and replace all single paragraph marks with
a space.
3) Now find the special character that you used in step 1
and replace that special character with two p-mrks. (You
may be able to use one p-mrk if your style for paragraphs
already includes a space above or below paragraphs)
That should do it.
Hope this helps.
