replacing default 'new mail message' template with form

Apologies if this is a duplicate, but I couldn't see my original post so I've
reposted.
Is it possible to replace the 'new message' template with a form? I want to
replace the 'new message' template so it has a pre-completed 'From' field to
avoid and issues by someone forgetting to use a form or fill in the 'From'
field.
