Replacing Normal.doc

My question is, when are normal.doc gets corrupted for any particular user
here we just pull a copy of it from the network and replace the normal.doc
and word will work again because once in a while we get run time errors in
word and the simple fix is to replace the normal.doc file but the question I
am asking is alot of the people that work here use "Quick Words" which is
stored in the normal.doc file and if that file is replaced they lose all
there quick words. Is there a way to take the quick words out of the
normal.doc file and add them to the normal.doc that we pull from the network
so when we have to replace that file they never lose there "Quick Words" .

1) It is normal.dot, not normal.doc.

2) If you simply rename normal.dot to normalold.dot Word will recreate a new
one all by itself.

3) You can pull the AutoText entries from normalold.dot into the new
normal.dot if you want. Even better is to put them in a separate global
template. See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step
instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations
including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros,
etc.

Read the article. These quickwords are either AutoCorrect, in which case
they are probably not in normal.dot, or AutoText. AutoText is moved using
the Organizer. Read the article.
