Replacing Resources

I have assigned Task 1 to Jim. Due to priorities in other projects I shift
Jim from Task 1 and replace Jim with Mark. Essentially the Resource would be
overwritten with the new Resource. Is there anyway to retain the original
allocations or history of the allocations made to Task 1?

Devendra,

Split the screen so that you have the task form at the bottom
(Window>Split). Select Task 1 in the top part of the screen. In the
bottom, assign Mark in the line under Jim. Enter the amount of Jim's
remaining work in the line for Mark and enter zero for Jim's remaining
work. Jim's part of the task is now complete, and Mark takes over. If
you've saved a baseline, you can still see the amount of work Jim was
baseline scheduled to complete.

You can't retain a history of allocations except by archiving backup
copies of the file. If Jim has done some work and is now being replaced
by Mark you CAN substitute Mark onto Jim's incomplete work while
preserving the history of Jim's actual work performed. Which is it you
want to do?
