Replacing standard Colours in default templates

Is it possible to edit the default templates in word excel and powerpoint to
change the "standard colours" for Fonts?

I have added colours to a document, and it added recent colours but i wish
to change the pallette for all the users on the network so i was thinking
replacing the default templates. Would this be a theme that i need to create
and apply to a template?

any tutorials on this as i haven't really ever needed to change themes in
previous versions.

Yes, you can create a theme for Office 2007. This is a new feature in Office
2007 -- previous versions don't have themes.

A theme includes a font scheme, a color scheme and an effects scheme. It
also includes slide masters and layouts, in case that's important to you.

You create the theme in PowerPoint.

Open a new, blank PPT file. Go to the Design tab.

Choose a font set (font scheme) that's appropriate for your use. Or create a
new one and choose it.

Choose an effects scheme that's appropriate for your use. (You cannot create
a new effects scheme in PowerPoint.)

Choose a color scheme that's appropriate for your use. Or create a new one
by choosing Edit Color Schemes at the bottom of the Design | Colors
dropdown. Input your colors and give the scheme a name. Then OK your way out
and choose that color scheme.

Finally, once you've selected the font scheme, the color scheme, and the
effects schme, go to Office Button | Save As and choose Office Theme
(*.THMX). You'll be taken to the appropriate folder* to save the theme so it
shows up on the Page Layout tab in both Word and Excel. It shows up in the
Design tab in PPT.

*(in Windows Vista)
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes

*(in Windows XP) C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes

Then yes, apply that theme to your existing files to create templates that
use that theme.
