Replied to email but all header, spell check all different

I received an email that had those 'smiley' icons near their signature. When
I hit REPLY it changed my whole top of the email screen, plus it turned off
my spell check. Some error message had come up about Word as editor or
something like that.

What happened and how do I change it back?
