Reply in HTML format

Just recently, my Outlook (2002) e-mail has changed such that every time I
reply, the reply is in plain text regardless of the addressee and regardless
of the format of the original message. I'm guessing somehow a setting
changed but I have no idea which one.

How do I fix this?

Thank you.

Your guess is correct. One of the settings has certainly changed.

Try this:

On the menu bar, go to Tools, Options.
On the preferences tab, there should be an item called E-Mail Options.
Click on it.
Now one of the check boxes should be: "Read all standard Mail in plain
text. Remove the check against this item.
Click OK

This should correct the settings because reading e-mails in html format
means you also want to send in html format..

I don't have that check box in Outlook 2002.

I haven't gone into the registry yet, but I am using an antivirus program.
The incoming e-mail is formatted. The only problem I'm having is when I
reply. Every message is plain text. I recall a setting to let Outlook choose
the format depending on sender, but for the life of me, I can't find it now.

BTW Outlook 2002.

Thank you,

Are you using antivirus to scan your incoming email?
