Reply Message - Text problems

I have been using Microsoft Office Outlook for about 6 months with no
problems. Yesterday when replying to an incoming e-mail, my reply looked
normal but when I sent it and subsequently look in the Sent Items, the text
now appears to be in Chinese or Japanese letters. The recipients get the
same unreadable message.

However, if I initiate a new e-mail message and Send, then it appears in my
Sent items box okay and the recipient can read it okay.

Any ideas what is going wrong? I run BullGuard Security and have carried
out a complete Scan of my system this morning, and it does not report any
virus etc.

I have the same issue, sent mails are turning into oriental/symbol characters
when replying. I have found this only occurs when the sender's original email
to which I reply is Plain Text; it works fine when I'm sent HTML emails or
when I change the email from Plain Text to HTML before sending it. If anyone
can advise on either how I can automatically send all emails as HTML or
prevent this 'translation' from occuring on Plain Text emails, I would be
grateful.

Thanks,
Karin

Karin, Many thanks for your response. I think your response is spot on. I
have received further e-mails in Plain Text and if I respond to them in Plain
Text or forward the message on in Plain Text, the symbols are as you say
Oriental looking. When I also change the forwarding e-mail to HTML then the
text remains okay. At least I know what to look out for and how to deal with
the issue. Thanks again.

Outlook will always reply using the format of the original message. You
cannot force a conversion from Plain Text to HTML for all messages.
