Reply screen suddenly went away

My friend tried to reply an email by clicking the reply button on the
outlook. When the screen opened up and in the middle of typing her reply, all
of the sudden the reply screen just went away, gone, poofed!
She checked on her sent item or draft but it wasn’t saved there. Her
computer was just replaced and she's using Office 2003.

She got this error message:
- Microsoft Office WordMail could not be started. Close any open dialog
boxes in Word and try again.
