Reply using Rules Wizard uses From address instead of Reply-To Add

When using the Rules Wizard for an Auto-Reply, it always replies to the From
address from the email instead of the Reply-To address defined in the header.
It only does this when using the rules wizard auto reply though...works fine
if manually replying. Checked with Microsoft and they are aware of it, but
nothing else is said about is. Just wondering if I upgraded to a newer
version, if this would be fixed. I saw someone else reported the same problem
with Outlook 2002 though.

I am using Outlook 2000 with service pack 3. So would Outlook 2003 reply to
the reply-to addresses instead of the from addresses? if so, can you override
the email security settings for outside programs to send an email through
Outlook without and Exchange server?

Great, thanks for the response. Looks like we will have to start think about
using another program. Many emails we receive now use a different reply
address, and many of those need auto-responses.

Hi there,

I have the same problem. Like you I presume the mail issues are eBay
related, in generating an auto-reply to the ebay system Emails.

Wondering if you have found any work arounds? It really is a pain that it
uses the "from" address, and it just doesn't make sense.

Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks,
Marty (SellOffDeals)

If you have Outlook 2003, if would be possible to write a VBA procedure that runs from a "run a script" rule to handle such replies.
