replying to a reply

FWIW, that is no longer a valid email address for Bob. Instead of trying to
reply to him by email, reply directly to his post in the newsgroup.

Reply Group is what you want: you want to reply to the group, not to the
individual poster. When you do that you are replying to his post (message)
in the newsgroup (discussion group, forum).

I don't know what his "post in the newsgroup" is, but I had been clicking
on the "Reply" button. When I clicked on the "Reply Group" button, it was
sent without a problem. I guess that's what you meant. I looked in the
Help window and there is no information about replying to a reply, nor is
there anything I could find that defines the difference between "Reply
Group" and "Reply". Maybe you could have them add it into the Help
function.

I'm trying to reply to an answer to a question I received from Bob
Buckland ? MS Office System Products MVP. But when I send it, I keep
getting the error message: "The message could not be sent. The
authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail
[SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for
"Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending
e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server
settings, please contact your e-mail service provider. The rejected
e-mail address was '75214.226(At Beautiful Downtown)compuserve.com'.
Subject 'Re: Word 2007 Find command does not respond', Account:
'pop.012.net.il', Server: 'smtp.012.net.il', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '550 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias: 75214.226(At Beautiful
Downtown)compuserve.com', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550,
Error Number: 0x800CCC79."
I was able to send a new question to another community okay, but when I
tried to send this one now not as a reply, I got the same error message.
What should I do differently?
