Replying to plain text emails that are marked private

For some reason, whenever I reply to an email that has been sent as plain
text (eg from a BlackBerry) - if the email is marked private, it does not
automatically insert my signature, and it doesn't automatically insert a new
line to differentiate my email from the previous one.

This ONLY happens on emails marked private, I've tested it using
confidential, personal and normal. Furthermore it only happens on emails
that have been sent in plain text.

Obviously I have set my system to automatically insert signatures for new
messages and replies. I am using Outlook 2003.

I really hope someone can help me solve this infuriating bug!

Many thanks
Mark

Do you have a plain text signature file defined in
%AppData%\Microsoft\SIgnatures?
