Report design

I am creating an annual customer report which will serve as an annual billing
statement as well as an annual service report. I want no Report Header
Section to print (it isn't displayed in print preview). Address data and
billing date data are in the Page Header. Detailed service data is in the
Detail Section. A tear-off sheet for customer use is in the Page Footer. I
want no Report Foot to print (it isn't displayed in print preview). In the
Detail Section some customers have one service call, some have two, and some
have three or more. Right now print preview shows a seperate sheet for each
date of a service call? I want a single sheet per customer showing dates and
detail of all calls. I have tried grouping by customer name, keeping whole
group together, and that doesn't work. All hints and offers of direction are
wanted!

Check the "Force New Page" property on each of the sections. It sounds like
you just want to force a new page after the CustomerName footer.

It sounda like the detail is either too big or a new page is being forced.

Mark, I think I have stared at the report too long. Your direction to force a
new page after the CustomerName footer sounds so easy, but I have clicked and
double cliked everywhere I can think of and I don't find the option you
recommend. In my report, if I right-click in or on the footer section I find
no place in properties to select your direction. How do I get to the location
to forece a new page after the CustomerName footer?

It's the second property. Note: it will not be available on a "Page footer"
so make sure you are on the "CustomerName" footer and right click and
the second property is "force New Page".

I'm looking at an Access2003 database but I think it's the same in all
versions.
Let me know what version you are using if you still can't find it, also if
needed you could email me the file and I'll take a look.

I wish I could send it, but I can't. Perhaps my problem(s) arises from the
fact that I created the report totally in the design view. I am using no
report header or foot. My customer address is in the page header and the
calendar dated data is in the detail section. The reports look great except I
want a customer with two or more service visits to have one report listing
the multiple visits in the detail section. My query is for "between 1-1-2008
and 12/1/2008. Thanks for your time and suggestions.

Design view, yea that's what everyone uses?

Add a grouping to group by customerID and then use the force new page on the
footer of the customerid grouping
also place the custom info in the customerID grouping (if you want, I guess
it would work both ways).
Your problem is you only have the standard page header and footer and they
don't allow
you to force a new page after them because they are designed for each page.

What you want is done all the time.

Mark, thanks for the assistance and the patience. Top notch as far as I am
concerned. Jim
