Report does nothing, why ??

I just created a report and when I run it nothing happens.
I put msgbox statements in the various event handlers and
this was the result:

on open fires
on close fires

I don't get the 'on activate, 'on deactivate, 'on error'
or 'on no data' events.

What could be happening?

Did you put a MsgBox in the OnNoData event and did it fire?

Could, by some stretch of the imagination, the Visible property of all the
Sections somehow have been set to False/No?

Only the 'on open' and 'on close' events fire.
All visible properties are set to YES.
Is there any way to step thru what access is doing so I
can find where the problem lies?
I did find one problem in a query that surfaced when I ran
the report from access. I was surprised that it did not
surface when I ran the report thru the system. But when I
try that nopw, it complains about not being able to find a
form - which is a form that is opened when the system is
run.
