It sounds like your previous version was perhaps Visio 5.0 Enterprise?
That was a giant/expensive version of Visio that included several solutions
that are not included in the Visio Professional box.
To get the Database modeling functionality - you now need to get "Visio
Enterprise Architects" (VEA), which is included in Microsoft Visual Studio
..NET Enterprise Architect Edition
