Report Grouping Problem

I have a report based on five fields, two of which are date and project number.

I would like two groupings with the report: group by Date, then group by
Project Number. However, when I group by both, the project number does not
come up, but the ID field for the project number does. If I do not group by
project number, the project number appears fine. Why is it pulling the ID
when I group it, not the project number?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Leslie:

That is due to the fact that you are probably using lookups at table level
(not a good idea). You can take care of it by adding the additional table
to the query underlying the report so that you can get the description. I

You're exactly right, and the website you provided helped me in a lot of
ways. I'll have to make some changes to the guts of my database, but this
