Report ot PDF - Memory problems??

T

Ted Martin

Has anyone noticed that when using that excellent code provided by Stephen
Lebans to enable a report to be output as a PDF (converting from the
Snapshot view) that the screen display font size occasionally changes on the
initiating form display, once the routine has completed?

This is an occasional and intermittent problem and I thought it may be a RAM
issue but I have 1GB.

The only solution to refresh the screen is to come out of Access and reload the
programme. Sometime switching between Switchboard menus helps but not always. It just seems to me that the creation of the PDF file using the Lemans method is very memory intensive and seems to sometimes upset the screen display after completion. I am/was using the latest drivers as posted on Stephens site - as I did find the reference to an earlier versions here and memory.

Any thoughts would be gratefully received. Thanks

No VBA coding required. Download the free utility, and read the instructions
provided with the utility. When you print an Access report, Access allows
you choose the printer you want to use. The CutePDF utility actually appears
as if it was a printer. You simply choose it and it "prints" the report as a
PDF.

The issue is with the creation of the internediate Snapshot that my solution uses. You probably have images in your report. If so, you must turn off the Loading Image dialog and you should move any code that sets the Picture property of an Image control to the Print event from the Format event. This is good standard practice for any Accesss report that contains images.
