Report templates with autofill from excel

Hi,

I am having issues trying to solve the problem below any help would be
appreciated:
(i've broken my problem into steps to help make it clearer)
step 1) I have an excel file with approximately 30 cells with one or two
word information e.g. Mr. Bradin
step 2) I want to insert each of these cells into different sections of a
paragraph. For example "I went to see _____ (insert Mr. Bradin) today he was
well. He saw ____ also". With the second blank a different name from step
1. This second step template (paragraph format--it must be able to print in
a paragraph format) can be in any general programs that will merge/work well
with excel.

My overall goal is to create a report (in paragraph format) template and
just be able to use an excel sheet with different information to import the
blanks into each part of the paragraph. To save myself some time of course!!

Any help would be great!!
Thanks all
Jenn

Hello,

One problem I have though is that I am not using database information. What
I am using is a questionnaire that has been scanned and the answers are in
cells (either in excel or spss) I want to merge the answers found within each
of the cells to particular spots in the paragraph. The overall wording of
the paragraph stays the same but the individual's answers change depending on
the person.

So, instead of having to type in the answers for the individual's particular
answers I would merge the information from the document with the cells (excel
sheet for example) with the paragraph. I want the answers from the cells to
merge into the paragraph!!

Hope this clarifys what I'm trying to say.

Thanks so much for your reply! Any further help would be greatly appreciated
as I am going bonkers trying to fix this.

I don't know if an easy way to accomplish what you are trying to do. It can
be done using a bit of VBA, by taking the data out of each cell and placing
it in a format Word can use (fairly simple if you know VBA). Perhaps someone
else will have an idea for you? Otherwise you may want to find a programmer.
