I want to use the task usage report... but only for a
selected week. Can I do this?

Hi Carl,

You can create a custom report based upon the task usage
report.
Select the task usage report and choose the Edit button.
Rename the report Task Usage by Week (or whatever you
choose).
On the definition page use the filter Date Range...
You may also wish to change the Cross tab column heading
to show time in days not weeks.
Using the Date Range filter will make a dialog box appear
asking for the date range when you run the report.
Your new report will appear under the Custom category in
the Reports dialog box.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Julie!

I tried your advice and it worked perfectly in all files
except one. My new problem is that I have tasks that
start on 1/1/04 with periodic work..so when I use the
method you suggested it shows basically every piece of
information. Do you know if I can just show what's
happening in this date range? so for example, a task
starts on 1/1/04 but doesnt have work scheduled into it
until 2/15/04... I want to see the work done the week of
the 15th but not all the stuff from january. Thanks
again for the help. I hope you or someone else knows the
answer...

Hi Carl,

Glad to know the first answer helped most of the way. I
have been racking my brain to come up with an answer to
your question below.

No joy yet, but I'll keep working on it and perhaps
someone else from the group can answer it in the meantime.

regards,
Julie

Carl --

I'm not sure this solution meets your reporting needs, but you might give it
a try:

1. Open the project in question
2. Click View - Reports
3. Double-click the Workload reports
4. Double-click the Task Usage report
5. Click the Print button
6. In the Print dialog, select the desired date range in the Timescale
section
7. Click OK to print or Print Preview to preview the results

The Print dialog is one way of date restricting the printing of Views that
contain either the Gantt Chart or the timephased grid, or for date
restricting Reports that are Crosstab reports, of which the Task Usage
report is one. Hope this helps.
