Reported error receiving email 0x80042110

For the last couple of weeks I have been unable to access my Yahoo Mail Plus
account using Outlook 2003 (my subscription allows me to access Yahoo Mail
via Outlook). I have contacted Yahoo on a number of occasions and after
various tests they have been unable to resolve the situation. They had
advised me to contact Microsoft.

Everything I send / receive a message I receive the following error message:

"Task 'pop.mail.yahoo.com - Receiving' reported error (0x80042110) : 'Your
POP3 server is providing inconsistent information. The number of messages
returned by the STAT command does not match the number of items returned by
the UIDL or LIST commands. Contact your POP3 or Internet service provider.'"

Can anyone help?

If you empty your mailbox on Yahoo does the same thing happen? Maybe things
have gotten out of sync. Also, have you emptied your Yahoo Mail Trash
folder?

I'm having the same problem. My pop server is Yahoo! and after contacting
them they passed me onto MIcrosoft.

I took your advice and emptied the trash and bulk e-mails, that didn't work.
I moved the messages from the Inbox to another folder I created in Yahoo and
that didn't work. The Inbox was empty and Outlook still came up with errors.
Any other ideas?
