Reporting bugs to Mac BU?

I was chagrined to discover some months ago that the send feedback link from
the help menu of Office apps now point to the generic MS support page. There
appears to be no way to send bug reports or feature requests via the web or
email. You have to call in and work your way through the system.

I for one don't feel like trying to do this, even though I was more than
willing to submit bug reports in writing.

What's up with this?

Hi,
there are several ways of reporting bugs or leaving feedback. I agree with
you that it's a shame that the "submit feedback" feature has been removed
from Microsoft's website, but for the time being, you can do the following:

*post any bug you encounter on this and other Mac Office newsgroups, and the
same thing goes for feedback. Several Microsoft employees are reading posts
on this newsgroup, and they can actually contact you if they need to know
more about the things you'd like to see changed.

*since you have Office 2004, you should enable Microsoft Error Reporting.
It's turned on by default, so unless you made any changes to it, it should
show up when one of your Office applications crashes. Send Microsoft your
error reports; the more they get, the easier it will be for them to identify
problems and fix them.

Michel is absolutly right . Your reports are very valuable. Please post them
to this newsgroup and I assure you, they will be tracked ,even if you don't
see a reply. Sending data through Microsoft Error Reporting is another
valuable way of reporting your issues .
Thanks ,
Priyanka

I just called MS to report a bug and was told the following:
1. If you have one of your 2 free incident calls/email allowances
left, you can call tech support. If the issue is determined to be a
bug, they will credit it back to you.
2. Mail the details of the bug to: Microsoft Corporation,
Attention: Word 2004 Development Group (or whichever product you're
using), One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052.

Hi,

Please pay attention to Priyanika's message. She said to post your bugs
here in the newsgroup.

Yes, you can call Microsot and report bugs and pay the fees, but why
would you do that when you can post here for free?

If you do post bugs here in the newsgroup, please post a new thread
(subject) for each bug. Be sure to mention what version of the program
you are using, the version of your OS and any and all things that you
think would help someone try to reproduce the problem on their own computer.

Thanks.

-Jim
