Reposition Text in Flowchart Connectors

When using either the "Dynamic Connector" or "Connector Tool", I cannot
reposition the text on the connector, as the online help tells me I can. Am I
doing something wrong, or is that just for other types of connectors.

Problem: When I have a long connector (like a jump back to the beginning),
it places the text half-way up the connector. I would prefer to have the text
close to the element.

Workaround: I've built some connectors using a line tool and inserting the
text where I want it, then continuing the line with either the "Dynamic
Connector" or "Connector Tool". This is no longer a dynamic connector, though.

The Dynamic connector in Visio 2007 does contain a hidden control handle
which becomes visible when there is some text added to it (Just select the
line and type). You can then reposition the text with the revealed yellow
diamond.
The Dynamic connector master is automatically created/used when you use the
Connector Tool without another 1D Master selected in a stencil.
However, if the document you are using already contains a Dynamic connector
master, then you will be uninitentionally using that.
This last point is important because it means that you can modify the
Dynamic connector in a document (change line format, line ends, etc), and
you then use the Connector Tool to connect shapes with it.
"Dynamic connector" is the only reserved name for a master in Visio that I
am aware of.

I'll give that a shot. One thing I didn't mention - I'm using Visio 2003 at
my office and 2000 at my client's office. Will it work the same way?
